When dealing with collections you have two sides the patient's responsibility
and the insurance portion. The greatest headache related to insurance
billing is typically tracking the unpaid claims. With most software packages you work from a report that you have to mentally sort through to decide which claims warrant a phone call. InPhase has implemented a system that will track the claims for you. You just need to call the carriers from the list to find out the status of your unpaid claims. We call this feature the 'Money Pit'. Within
the 'Money Pit' the information you need to track a claim is just a mouse click away.
Once you have selected the claim you enter what action you have taken
for tracking purposes. Such as you spoke with a person named Beth, the claim is in process and you will call back in 3 weeks.
By clicking on the 'Claim & Policy Information' button you will have all the information the carrier will need to know about the claim in question.
After you have completed all your calls you can run the Money Pit Activity report as a record of any action you have taken. The Money Pit will be clear and when you come in tomorrow you will have a new list of claims to work with.
